In the 1990s, when Grant was the center of attention for the media due to his international box-office success in Four Weddings and a Funeral, Hurley accompanied Grant in the black plunged Versace dress that was secured with gold safety pins. She gained instant media exposure. Hurley's association in the company of Estee Lauder, a cosmetics manufacturer, has been regarded as a defining moment in her career. Hurley was first offered a modeling contract with the company in the year she turned 29. Since then, the company has employed Hurley as a product model specifically for perfumes including Sensuous Intuitions as well as Pleasures.
