Gaga's debut album, "The Fame", was released in 2008 with little radio attention. Gaga went on tour throughout Europe and the US to promote her album. It was not until Gaga had her first hit, "Just Dance", that the mainstream media began to become a part of the music industry. Gaga was suffering from a labral tear in her right leg. she was secretly nursing for several weeks so that she could go on the tour. She was unable walk after her show in Toronto and was in extreme pain. The tour was canceled.
